Had a nice visit to the McCloud River to share this rainbow trout fishing gem with a new fly fisherman from Redding California.
Another cool fact about the McCloud River is “on the canyon’s limestone outcrops are found two species, the Shasta Salamander and a plant named the Shasta Eupatory, that occur nowhere else on earth.”

I produced this video for The Fly Shop about 6 years ago. This is the bottom 8 miles of the McCloud River before it falls into Shasta Lake.
