Owner & Guide, MoJoBella Fly Fishing®
Steve Crosetti
I’m Steve Crosetti, but most people just call me “CRO.” I’m the owner and operator of MoJoBella Fly Fishing®, based out of Redding, California. I grew up in the Bay Area and made the move north with my young family in 2004.
For the past 19 years, I’ve been guiding and teaching fly fishing throughout Northern California—both independently and as a former guide with The Fly Shop. I’m a certified casting instructor through Fly Fishers International, and every summer, I head up to Alaska to guide at HooDoo Lodge for Salmon and Steelhead.
Over the years, I’ve had the chance to fish and guide on some incredible waters, including the Sacramento, Klamath, Trinity, Hat Creek, McCloud, and Upper Sacramento rivers. Whether it’s your first time with a fly rod or you’re looking to level up your skills, I’m here to help you make the most of your time on the water.

Guide
Dennis “Popeye” Franco
My name’s Dennis Franco—though most people on the water know me as “Popeye.” I’ve been guiding fly anglers for over 36 years across California, Alaska, and beyond. It’s been a lifelong passion, and I feel fortunate to have turned it into a career that’s taken me to some of the best fisheries out there.
I spent 29 of those years guiding with The Fly Shop, and along the way, I was personally certified as a casting instructor by the legendary Mel Krieger—an experience I’ll always hold close. Since the beginning, I’ve also been part of the guide team at HooDoo Lodge in Alaska, where I return every season to guide for Salmon and Trout in some of the most remote and rewarding water.
Over the years, I’ve guided anglers on rivers like the Sacramento, Klamath, Trinity, and countless others. Whether you’re chasing your first fish on the fly or looking for that next big challenge, I’m here to share what I’ve learned and help you make the most of every cast.

Porter Simonis
My name is Porter Simonis, and I'm a Northern California native who’s been hooked on fishing since I was a kid. For me, fly fishing has always been about more than just catching fish—it’s about the places it takes you and the people you meet along the way.
I’ve had the opportunity to guide at both Clearwater Lodge here in California and HooDoo Lodge in Alaska, and I feel lucky to spend so much time on the water doing what I love. With five years of guiding experience, I’ve developed a strong knowledge of some of Northern California’s best fisheries, including the Fall River, Pit River, Hat Creek, McCloud, Upper and Lower Sacramento, and the Trinity River.
My approach is all about creating a relaxed, enjoyable experience while helping anglers build confidence and skill. Whether you’re brand new to fly fishing or looking to explore new water, I’m here to make the day both fun and memorable.

Guide
Joe Vasquez
I’m Joe Vasquez, and I’ve been guiding fly anglers for over 38 years. It’s been a lifelong journey that’s taken me across some of the best fisheries in California and Alaska, and I still find something new to appreciate every time I step into the water.
Throughout the year, I guide on the Lower American, Lower Yuba, Lower Feather, Sacramento, and Klamath Rivers, and I’ve also spent seasons up north at HooDoo Lodge in Alaska. Earlier in my career, I spent several years guiding with The Fly Shop, which helped shape the foundation of the guide I am today.
At heart, I’m a teacher. I’m a certified casting instructor through Fly Fishers International (FFF), and I take real pride in helping anglers—whether they’re brand new or highly experienced—build their skills, confidence, and connection to the water. If you're looking to learn, explore, and fish hard, I’m here to guide the way.

Nick Stetser
I’m Nick Stetser, a Northern California native with over 12 years of guiding experience—and a lifelong connection to the rivers and landscapes of this region. Fly fishing has always been a passion of mine, and guiding gives me the chance to share that passion with others, whether it’s on a familiar stretch of water or somewhere new.
In addition to guiding, I’ve spent the last 19 years serving with Cal Fire. That experience has only deepened my understanding of the local terrain and ecosystems, and it’s given me a strong respect for the natural world we get to fish in.
I guide on rivers like the Sacramento, Klamath, Trinity, McCloud, and Upper Sacramento, and I’m known for keeping a calm, steady approach on the water. Whether you’re new to fly fishing or looking to explore Northern California’s legendary fisheries, I’m here to make it a great experience from start to finish.
